Poodle Weekend - Demo & Workshop

This weekend is open to everyone:

Competition groomers, Show poodles, Pet groomers

These two ladies are fun & friendly, with a passion for sharing their knowledge, they having been hosting thus annual event for 5yrs and is well supported, so early booking is essential to guarantee a place.

A bit about these crazy poodle ladies:

Fiona Bruce is well-known for her Donaska miniature poodles and six Champion poodles allow her to share the sofa with them at home. Her poodles have gained such titles as Top winning miniature poodle in UK 2022, Top male poodle in breed, Miniature Poodle of the year, and have multiple group wins between them and best in shows. Fiona has been grooming for 44years, starting at the very young age of 13, and her skills & knowledge of the poodle coat and the many versatile trims is immense. Fiona has competed in grooming competitions, and although not a frequent competitor has always had much success including Best in Show.

Carol Hutchins has been a commercial groomer for 32 years and purchased her first standard poodle to practice her skills on after completing her grooming training. From that time on, a passion was born! Carol breeds and shows the Parcheeni Standard Poodles and her sofas are taken over by four Champions. Carol also owns and runs a successful grooming salon and holds the International Certified Master Groomer Qualification. She also has been successful in grooming competitions with multiple placings and wins at Champion level. Carol also recently judged several poodle classes at the Great British Grooming Show and the Great British Groom Off. Carol is also a Championship Show in Poodles

Saturday 3rd June 2023 Demo day

Demonstrating three styles: Continental, Scandinavian and T-trim. This session will also cover all aspects of the poodle including shaping, angulation, balance and style to enhance any comp dog, show dog or salon groomed dog. This session will also discuss prep work, products, coat care, coat maintenance, wrapping, banding and the all-important topknot for the show dogs. There will be opportunities for Q & A throughout the day, so please do speak up!

Sunday 4th June 2023 – Workshop day

Bring along a well prepared Poodle and your grooming kit. Whether your interest is in Showing poodles, Competition grooming or you want to enhance your salon grooms, Fiona & Carol will guide you throughout the day with scissoring, shape and balance, passing on their knowledge to bring the best out of you and your dog. We highly recommend those attending the workshop do attend the demo day as its on demonstration days we discuss, the shape, style and the theory behind it all to help you through your workshop.
